Release notes
What changed in the platform, and — separately — what changed in the method. A platform release changes how figures are shown and handled; only a new factor set or engine version changes the figures themselves.
- Engine
- 1.0.0
- Factor set in force
- ghana-1.0.0
Method changelog
Each published factor set, newest first. Figures cite the set they were computed under in their lineage.
- ghana-1.0.0in forcepublished 14 Oct 2026 · effective 1 Jan 2018
Seeded from emitrack_engine defaults. Parameter ranges are the documented method values; provenance is assumed_with_range for every parameter that has not been measured at a facility.
3.1.0 — EmiSource AI
Not yet deployed
- Name
- EmiTrack-AI is now EmiSource AI. The mark is unchanged; the wordmark sets “Emi” in petrol and “Source” in copper.
- Homepage
- A new homepage describing what the platform delivers and for whom, with Ghana presented as the reference deployment and its live figures labelled as such.
- Access
- Sign-in asks which kind of organisation you work for, and the request-access form now sends requests to the administrators, with the organisation type and role chosen from lists.
- Review
- On demonstration instances, platform administrators can view the platform as any stakeholder sees it, through the same access controls; the audit trail records the reviewer.
- Language
- Wording throughout reflects the platform's purpose of supporting each stakeholder: submissions are returned for revision with notes, and the methane pages describe a programme and its progress.
- Speed
- Charts load separately from the pages that contain them, recently read data is reused when moving between pages, and anonymous visitors no longer wait on a session check.
- Administration
- A new instance's first administrator is created with one command, documented in the deployment guide. Requests from the access form arrive in Administration, where an NCEL administrator approves them, creating the account, or declines them with a note; waiting requests are shown on Today.
- Contact
- A contact page with the lab's address and the ways to reach it: access, demonstrations, research funding, product and validation partnerships, and user support.
3.0.0-alpha.1 — V3, phase 1: methane compliance and readiness across four frameworks
Not yet deployed
- Stakeholders
- Accounts for the Environmental Protection Authority, the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Ministry of Finance and trainees. EPA users start from methane compliance; the revenue, finance and trainee views follow in phase 2, and until then those accounts read the Library.
- Methane compliance
- Operators file their company inspection plan, LDAR inspections and leak register under Ghana EPA's methane guidelines, with the documents attached. EPA accepts or returns each filing, once, with a note on a return. The Commission, verifiers and NCEL read every operator's records; an operator reads only its own.
- Readiness
- Regulatory readiness now covers the EU Methane Regulation, OGMP 2.0, the IPCC and Paris Agreement transparency rules, and Ghana EPA's methane guidelines: 42 criteria, each with its clause, its sources and whether they were read in the primary text. NCEL reviews each criterion and a second person approves it; a criterion taken from secondary sources cannot be approved.
- Standards
- Five of the EU Methane Regulation article references used in V2 were corrected against the Regulation's text; each correction is shown beside the original. The scores were not changed.
- Assurance
- Row-level security checks for the new records, run as the application's own database role; pre-flight checks that the readiness criteria load and that EPA's organisation exists.
2.1.0 — Identity, navigation and the transparency record
Not yet deployed
- Design
- A light “paper” theme by default and a dark “control room” theme, from one set of design tokens shared with the briefing PDF; a serif for headings and a monospaced face for every number.
- Navigation
- Four spaces — Work, Analysis, Evidence and Library — replace a single rail. Search everything with Ctrl or ⌘ K, including a pasted lineage id. Each role starts from its own Today.
- Explanation
- An “i” beside a figure or chip opens its definition and, for a figure, its lineage summary. Every figure carries a provenance line: basis, tier, period and how it was made.
- Work
- “Since your last visit” on each Today; an operator filing calendar; findings grouped by month and field with a CSV download; form fields checked against the published rules before filing; keyboard review (J, K, N, A, E, X) with note templates; processing stages on every submission.
- Briefings
- A statement of basis and a verification QR code on every briefing; a pre-publish checklist with a comparison against the last published briefing; one-step verification of files and figures.
- Analysis
- Scenario Lab levers, shareable links and saved scenarios. A data-quality card on each facility.
- Evidence
- The crosswalk editor shows the framework's source text beside the clause being entered.
- Library
- New pages on the data foundation, the projection method, AI screening and the assistant; guides for filing, reviewing, briefings and verifying; a public transparency record; the data dictionary; these notes.
- Assistant
- Available as a side panel on every page, aware of the facility on screen; evaluated weekly with the scores published.
2.0.0 — Regulator edition
Not yet deployed
- Filing
- Operator returns by portal form, file upload or API, validated against a published catalogue and decided by a reviewer; corrections supersede, never overwrite.
- Pipeline
- Accepting a return promotes it, recomputes the inventory, runs the AI screening and the alert rules, each as its own audited job.
- Assurance
- Lineage on every figure, scheduled reproducibility checks, an append-only audit trail and audited exports with the SHA-256 of every file released.
- Briefings
- Briefing PDFs and evidence packs with every figure footnoted to its lineage; publication freezes them in the database.
- AI
- Anomaly screening, review triage and satellite reconciliation, each a question for a reviewer and never a figure; a grounded assistant that answers from the record with citations.
- Standards
- A crosswalk to seven frameworks, populated clause by clause from the authoritative texts under a two-person rule.
