Briefings & packs
A briefing is a PDF for a period, generated from the same functions as the API; every number in it is a recorded figure with a footnote to its lineage. Its evidence pack carries the figures, their lineage and the files, each hashed. Publishing freezes both.
Generating
- 1
Choose the period and sections
Summary and the figure appendix are always included; what changed, sources and tiers, the facility league, review activity, standards readiness, priorities and methods are optional. - 2
Add an analyst's note if needed
It is printed under its own heading as the analyst's words. Numbers in it are not platform figures, and the document says so. - 3
Generate
Rendering runs as a job. The PDF and the evidence pack are stored with their SHA-256, and every figure is recorded with its lineage.
What is in the PDF
- Cover
- Period, generation time, engine and factor-set versions, template, report id, and a QR code to the briefing's line in the public register.
- Statement of basis
- The reporting basis, the method version, whether the data are real or demonstration, and how a reader can verify the document without asking its authors.
- Figures
- Each with a footnote to its lineage record. The appendix lists every one with the fingerprint of its inputs.
Before publishing
The publish control stays disabled until every check passes.
- 1
Rendered and hashed
The PDF and pack exist and have recorded SHA-256 values. - 2
Every figure resolves to a lineage record
Checked automatically. - 3
The stored files match their hashes, and every computed figure reproduces
Use “Re-run every figure now”: the platform re-runs each figure from its lineage and compares at storage precision. Counts from the record have nothing to re-run and are listed as such. - 4
Compared with the last published briefing
The figures the two share, side by side, largest movement first. A different period moves totals by construction; read intensities and shares first. - 5
The analyst's note read
It states no figure as the platform's that the platform has not recorded.
Publishing is final. The database refuses any change to a published briefing. A correction is a new briefing, which can name the one it supersedes.
